Powell Reaffirms Commitment to Fed Chair Role Amid Legal Pressures
As reported by Odaily, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell has asserted that U.S. law prevents the President from removing him from office. In response to any potential pressure from former President Donald Trump, Powell confirmed he has no plans to step down and intends to fulfill his term as Chair through May 2026. His tenure on the Federal Reserve Board is set to continue until January 2028. This week, Powell also expressed confidence that an ongoing Supreme Court case is unlikely to affect the Fed’s operations.
